Another possibility is yeast overgrowth and lack of good bacteria which also causes food allergies so if seeing a practitioner be sure he/she addresses the original imbalance whiich is poor intestinal ecology.

Thanks for your question. In most cases I treat, rosacea is caused by food "allergies", poor digestion and inefficient elimination (aka detoxification). The first step is to have a holistic practitioner assess your health to determine whether one, two or all three of these factors is present in your case. If you have food allergies, a short (3-4 week) elimination diet that avoids the foods you're allergic or sensitive to will begin to reduce your rosacea. Digestive aids like enzymes or HCl may be necessary but should be prescribed by a knowledgeable practitioner. Finally, the practitioner can prescribe an appropriate cleanse regimen (which could be herbal, homeopathic or vitamin based). These combined treatments will reduce the agents that are causing the inflammation of your skin, and the rosacea will decline or clear up.
