The prevention of cancer goes beyond just eating lemons, BUT, having lemons in the diet can be one of the things you incorporate into the diet that could certainly help. Lemons are naturally high in Vitamin C which is a powerful anti-oxidant that can be utilized to help rid the body of potentially cancer-causing free radical chemicals. Lemons also contain compounds called Limonoids, some of which are being researched for their anti-cancer benefits. Lemons when eaten also promote a more alkaline or basic pH balance in the body (even though they are acidic as a fruit, they become alkaline as they are digested). An acidic environment tends to favour the development of cancer, whereas an alkaline environment tends to be unfavourable for cancer. And finally, lemons promote the production of enzymes and bile by the liver, which in turn helps the body to detoxify wastes and toxins in the body. This helps to promote a healthier, cancer unfavourable environment in the body. So lemons really are a good addition to the diet.
